Tenants Deposit
If you take a deposit from a tenant it must be held in an authorised 3rd party account. It is no longer acceptable to hold the deposit in your own account.
From the 6th of April 2006, all deposits on an Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement with an annual maximum of £25,000 taken by a Landlord in England and Wales, have to be protected by an authorised tenancy deposit scheme.
